Seriál Walking Dead vznikol podľa rovnomenného komiksu a stanica AMC zatiaľ veľmi úspešne odvysielala dve série (prvá mala 6 častí, druhá 13, plánovaná tretia 16). Walking Dead prináša príbeh o následkoch apokalypsy, ktorá zmenila ľudí na zombie a sleduje príbeh skupinky ľudí, ktorí prežili a cestujú naprieč USA a snažia sa nájsť si nový domov, bez hôrd zombie. Skupinu vedie Rick Grimes, ktorý bol v starom svete policajným dôstojníkom. Čím väčšmi je ich situácia bezútešnejšia, tým viac ich vôľa prežiť núti robiť takmer čokoľvek, aby zostali nažive. V roku 2010 získal seriál na prestížnu cenu Zlatý glóbus. Získal ocenenie AFI TV Award ako najlepší seriál roka a v roku 2011 získal cenu Saturn Award od Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films v USA.
